Dr. Kiel is an Australian-trained Gastroenterologist. Completed advanced medical training in the field of Gastroenterology at Nambour and Royal Brisbane Hospitals, before completing a year as the Inflammatory Bowel Disease and Functional Gastrointestinal Fellow at the Princess Alexandra Hospital. Post training, Dr. Kiel completed a clinical observership at the Royal Melbourne Hospital with a focus on functional gastrointestinal disorders.
Dr. Kiel sees patients with all gastrointestinal conditions, but has a special interest in both Inflammatory Bowel Diseases and Functional Gastrointestinal Disorders. She is one of the few Gastroenterologists in Queensland trained in high-resolution oesophageal manometry, a procedure used to investigate patients with swallowing disorders. Dr Kiel also performs 24 hour pH studies, often used in the assessment of patients with difficult-to-treat gastroesophageal reflux disease. Dr. Kiel performs upper endoscopy and colonoscopy, and is passionate about providing high-quality procedures for bowel cancer screening.
Dr. Kiel remains committed to the provision of exceptional medical care. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Physicians, and is a member of the Gastroenterology Society of Australia, and the Queensland Gastroenterology Society. Dr. Kiel is dedicated to ongoing learning and regularly attends both national and international meetings and conferences. Dr. Kiel is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Clinical Medicine at The University of Queensland and is actively involved in registrar and medical student teaching.
