Joan has had a fascinating career specialising in food chemical intolerance over 40 years, with a special interest in IBS over the last 15 years. She has conducted clinical research, both in public health and in private practice, helping literally thousands of families. She has supported people who wonder if diet has a role in symptoms such as IBS, migraine, eczema and other allergic conditions and many other symptoms such as mouth ulcers, nausea, sleep problems, car sickness as well as in ADHD and fatigue using her Diet Detective Program. She has completed a Master of Applied Science in the area.
She also held the public health position of Adviser in Nutrition and Dietetics to the Department of Health in Queensland from 1979 to 1983.
